At Salone del Mobile, spaces are designed to be seen. For a few days, every detail competes for attention, every material tells a story. Yet what lingers, rarely, is only visual. Scenting at Salone del Mobile acts as an additional layer: invisible, precise, capable of anchoring an experience in the memory of those who move through the space.

Spaces become stories

During Salone del Mobile, design, materials and light give shape to the visual experience. Scent completes the atmosphere.

Not as decoration, but as a structural element of perception. An olfactory signature that supports the identity of the space, makes it recognisable, and settles into memory over time.

The technical challenges of a temporary environment

Scenting an exhibition space requires a precise reading of the environment. Stands are often open or semi-open, which makes the positioning of diffusion systems critical: they must be invisible, yet fully effective.

The proximity of other brands adds another layer of attention: the fragrance must cover the stand area without invading adjacent spaces. Intensity is also calibrated in relation to visitor flow, to ensure a pleasant perception, never intrusive. Scent Company’s technical team works in close collaboration with architects and designers, choosing between HVAC integration and mobile diffusion systems based on the specific conditions of each project.

Recreating the showroom atmosphere

In most cases, brands arrive at Salone del Mobile with their own distinctive fragrance, developed beforehand. The goal is not to introduce something new, but to recreate the same atmosphere visitors experience in the official showrooms. A sensory consistency that reinforces brand identity across every context.

At the same time, the fragrance at the fair becomes a trace: a subtle yet memorable element that accompanies the experience and remains in the memory of those who visit the stand. Scenting at Salone del Mobile is not only presence. It is recognition.

From Salone del Mobile to an ongoing collaboration

Over the years, Scent Company has contributed to a number of projects presented at Salone del Mobile. Turri, Rugiano, Wall&Deco: every collaboration begins from a different space, a different narrative, a different intention. Fragrance becomes part of how the space is perceived, not as a focal point, but as a layer that supports materials, atmosphere and identity.

For some brands, the collaboration begins here. The fragrance is introduced during the fair and, already during the event, the client begins collecting feedback from visitors and clients. From this first moment, a continuous relationship often develops: the fragrance extends to primary spaces such as offices and showrooms, and eventually to the development of a dedicated product collection.

Let us design an authentic sensory experience together. Start here.

Amid the competitions and ceremonies of the XXV Winter Olympic Games, another story unfolds in silence. Scent Company has designed the olfactory experience of Casa Lombardia, the institutional pavilion of the Lombardy Region in Piazza Regione Lombardia. Three fragrances, three environments, one single sensory narrative.

An Olfactory Signature in the context of the Winter Olympic Games

The 2026 Winter Olympic Games bring Milan and Cortina to the center of the world. Casa Lombardia becomes the heart of institutional hospitality: a space welcoming delegations, athletes, and international press with the discreet elegance that only invisible details can communicate.

For this context, Scent Company has curated the olfactory identity of the entire path. Each environment tells a nuance of the Lombard landscape, orchestrated with professional diffusers and sensory governance attentive to every transition.

Three Fragrances, an Alpine Narrative

The journey begins with Neve Fresca (Fresh Snow). A limpid, cold, luminous opening: the air of a freshly snow-covered mountain suspended at the entrance. Bright notes that prepare the senses for attention and listening, even before words begin.

In the media lounge, Chalet wraps visitors in balsamic and green accents. Warm resin, fir trees, damp earth: the alpine forest filtered through the intimacy of a mountain refuge. A deliberately soft contrast to the energy of the event.

Outside, Pino Cembro (Swiss Stone Pine) closes the narrative. Fresh and balsamic, the fragrance opens toward vast woodland expanses: deep breath, natural stillness. An invitation to slow down, even in the middle of the world.

Professional Scenting at the Service of Institutional Spaces

Designing an olfactory experience for a global event requires far more than selecting fragrances. It requires listening, studying the spaces, understanding the audience. The sensory site survey is the first step: analyzing environments, flows, and the emotional expectations of visitors.

Scent Company applied this approach with rigor. The result is an emotional architecture that cannot be seen, only breathed. And that remains imprinted in memory, like every authentic signature.

Fragrance as a Universal Language

Casa Lombardia welcomes delegations from around the world. In this context, olfactory marketing becomes a language that transcends cultures, immediate in perception, powerful in message. Lombardy does not tell its story only through images or words. It is breathed.

A bespoke fragrance, designed for an institutional space, carries a precise meaning: attention to detail as a form of respect for every guest. This is the philosophy that guides every Scent Company project.

Let’s design an authentic sensory experience together. Start here.

Olfactory branding is not a decorative gesture. It is a structural, silent choice. Designing an olfactory identity means shaping a presence that accompanies the brand over time, without ever imposing itself.

It is not about striking. It is about remaining. With coherence, restraint, intention.

More intentional fragrances

In the language of olfactory branding, fragrances become more conscious. Less immediacy, more depth. Recognizability is not born from excess, but from continuity.

A well-designed olfactory signature knows how to return without tiring. It allows itself to be recognized over time, like a familiar gesture. It is a matter of balance, not volume.

Warm, material, enveloping textures

Compositions become softer. Resins, woods, delicate spices, amber and milky notes take the place of overly sharp accords.

The scent dialogues with materials, with light, with the seasons. It does not seek attention. It allows itself to be perceived, like a surface to brush against.

Reduced diffusion, absolute precision

The olfactory experience becomes quieter. Diffusion lowers, precision increases. Every project is born from listening to the space, to air flows, to volumes.

Technology does not amplify. To orchestrate means to calibrate. A controlled presence is always more elegant than a declared intensity.

Beyond the diffuser: fragrance as language

Fragrance does not live only in environments. Workshops, events, products, and experiential moments become natural extensions of the olfactory identity.

It enters the brand’s calendar. It accompanies gestures, marks time, builds shared memory.

E-commerce and post-purchase: unboxing as a sensory threshold

The olfactory experience does not stop at the physical space. In e-commerce, unboxing becomes a threshold: the point where identity takes form.

Scented tissue paper, olfactory cards, light traces. Small signs that transform a functional gesture into an intimate moment, capable of extending emotion beyond the screen.

Craftsmanship and gesture: where atmosphere is born

Pouring the wax. Preparing the containers. Checking the textures. Behind every olfactory creation there is a moment of absolute concentration.

It is in these measured gestures that atmosphere takes shape. Even before being perceived, it is constructed.

Not decoration, but structure

Fragrance does not add. It supports. It holds together. It is sensory coherence translated into invisible language.

Olfactory branding becomes emotional architecture. A constant, discreet, recognizable presence. Like a signature. Like a whisper.

Let’s design an authentic sensory experience together. It starts here.

At Scent Company, professional scenting services always begin with a simple gesture: listening to a story and translating it into atmosphere. From the first breath of a fragrance to the remote control of diffusers, every step is designed to protect what truly matters: the integrity of emotion in space.

Imagination and precision move side by side. The olfactory signature is born in the laboratory and then settles into the architecture, into the air flows, into the daily gestures of your guests. Technology stays in the background, so that the fragrance can speak, like a delicate language.

Professional scenting services: beyond the fragrance

Every Scent Company project is a 360° journey: We offer not only a fragrance, but an ecosystem of professional scenting services that brings together creativity, engineering, and everyday care. The fragrance is the visible face of a much wider system, which coordinates diffusion, maintenance, and sensory governance on an international scale.

It starts from the brand identity: values, rituals, guests. From there, the olfactory signature is defined, designed to be recognisable and gentle. Then the “behind the scenes” comes into play: sensory site survey, study of volumes, materials, and patterns of use. In this way, scent does not simply fill a space, it inhabits it, becoming a natural part of the experience.

From space to breath: sensory site survey and design

Each environment breathes in its own way. Before installing any diffusion system, our technical team analyses the layout, people flows, air currents, and interactions with HVAC and air-handling systems. It is a true sensory site survey, combining technical assessment and on-site perception.

In hotels, boutiques, offices, or exhibition spaces, the same fragrance may require different nuances: a brighter presence at the entrance, a softer trail in lounge areas, a calibrated diffusion in meeting rooms. The design of emission points and intensity levels always follows a logic of harmony, never intrusion. In this way, the olfactory signature remains coherent, yet gently adapts to every context.

Silent technology, remote control, global assistance

In olfactory marketing, technology translates creativity into precision and continuity. Ducted diffusers integrated into HVAC systems and design-driven mobile solutions work together to offer a uniform, discreet diffusion, designed for both intimate corners and very large spaces. Silence and architectural integration allow the systems to “disappear”, leaving the fragrance to speak.

Thanks to remote-control software, we programme and supervise every installation remotely from our HQ: schedules, intensity, technical pauses, peaks in footfall, special events. Telemetry signals refill levels and diffuser performance, so maintenance and refilling are managed proactively. Wherever your space is in the world, a network of technicians and local partners ensures continuity and assistance, so that your olfactory scenography remains steady, day after day.

Sensory governance: measuring without breaking the poetry

A mature olfactory project lives over time. This is why we work with a soft sensory governance: periodic checks, on-site tests, and listening to the operational teams who inhabit the spaces every day. Data – dwell times, guest feedback, sales trends – becomes a gentle compass. It is not about scenting more, but scenting better, creating balance, recognisability, and discreet wellbeing in every destination.

At the same time, attention to international standards on safety and air quality guides every choice: fragrances are developed in line with IFRA Standards, the global benchmark for the safe use of fragrance ingredients, and integrated into spaces that follow best practices for olfactory comfort and indoor wellbeing, in step with the latest reflections on architecture and scent.

One language, many destinations

A brand may live in a single boutique or in a constellation of spaces around the world. Scent Company’s professional scenting services are designed to support both dimensions: from a single tailor-made project to international networks of hotels, flagship stores, and corporate offices. The olfactory signature remains the invisible thread that connects every step of the journey, while micro-adjustments respect local cultures, climates, volumes, and rituals.

In this way, a guest entering a hotel in Milan, a boutique in Dubai, or a headquarters in New York rediscovers the same feeling of “home”. It is the discreet power of a strategy that brings together professional scenting services, silent technology, and attention to detail: a language that never needs to raise its voice, yet lingers in memory long after the last breath.

During the festive season, bespoke festive fragrances become a silent language. Made of spices, softened lights, and anticipation. They tell a brand’s identity with a delicacy that lingers far longer than any image.

This olfactory palette is often born from unmistakably winter accords, yet it can evolve into collections devoted to every special occasion. The same signature scent can live in spaces and turn into a gift, creating a continuous aromatic thread between environment and object.

Warm spices and bespoke festive fragrances

Warm spices define the character of a season at once. Cinnamon, clove, and ginger recall conviviality, set tables, and conversations that stretch beyond time.

Woven into bespoke festive fragrances, these notes become measured accents. A gentle vibration, calibrated across professional diffusers, candles, room sprays, or small scented objects designed as personalised gifts.

The secret is balance. Through true sensory governance, intensity and diffusion are orchestrated around volumes, footfall, and the kind of experience a brand wishes to leave as an imprint.

Gourmand notes: the discreet sweetness of the holidays

Gourmand nuances carry the most intimate side of the festive season. Vanilla, tonka bean, and bitter cocoa evoke freshly baked treats, lights dimming, conversations spoken softly.

Within an olfactory collection, these notes must never become intrusive. In bespoke festive fragrances they remain creamy, elegant, perfect for accompanying a scent logo already recognisable in the air, without overpowering its character.

The same tuning can live on different supports, from satin glass to porcelain, all the way to textiles. The fragrance converses with materials, colours, and graphic details, turning each gift into a small, tangible extension of the brand experience.

Resins, balsams, and amber accords

Resinous and balsamic notes draw the structure of a fragrance. Pine, fir, and incense open onto winter woods, important entrances, lobbies that welcome the guest with a sense of depth and quiet.

Amber and boisé accords add warmth and substance, a golden light that runs through the scent. In a brand’s signature scent, these elements create an enveloping yet controlled trail, ideal for luxury environments and products designed to bring the experience home.

With attentive design, the same olfactory architecture can be lightened or intensified. From diffusers to gift objects, recognisability remains intact, while the fragrance’s presence adapts to different moments of use.

From the festive season to every special occasion

The holiday period is often the first moment a company explores bespoke festive fragrances. This is how dedicated gifts are born for guests, partners, or internal teams, extending the experience lived in physical spaces.

When a brand already has a scent logo diffused through its environments, the same fragrance can enter a line of personalised products. A double olfactory anchor takes shape: in the air and in the object, in the memory of the place and in the gesture of giving.

This strategy does not end with Christmas or New Year’s. The same collection can be reworked for openings, corporate anniversaries, private events, and relationship moments that call for a discreet yet recognisable sign, always faithful to the brand’s sensory governance.

In this way, the palette of bespoke festive fragrances becomes an emotional archive at the brand’s disposal. An olfactory grammar that crosses seasons, keeps coherence, and returns to the recipient—each time—the sensation of finding the same story again.

For a long time, scent was perceived as an accessory, a simple finishing touch. Today, however, olfactory architecture is an integral part of spatial design: not a refinement, but an emotional structure that supports the brand narrative and the memory of those who move through the space.

In boutiques, hotels, airport lounges and urban flagships, fragrance is no longer a simple “plus”. It is a language that converses with light, materials and geometry, turning every environment into a coherent, measured and deeply recognisable sensory experience.

Olfactory architecture: from image to emotion

For years, design focused on what we see. Today, the most advanced projects work on what we feel. Olfactory architecture is born here: in the weave of perception, emotion and memory, where a scented note can become the key to an entire universe of sensations.

Scent bypasses rational barriers and reaches directly into the limbic system, the area of the brain where emotions and memories speak in silence. A single breath can evoke familiarity, a sense of home, intimacy with the brand, long before the eyes have read a logo or recognised a colour palette.

From logo to strategy: fragrance as brand architecture

Once, identity lived in fonts, colours and graphic signs. Today, for many brands, the real distinction lies in the ability to orchestrate an atmosphere. In this scenario, the signature scent becomes a discreet yet decisive code: it is what makes a space instantly recognisable, even with eyes closed.

In Scent Company projects, fragrance is not “added” at the end, but conceived as part of the brand’s sensory governance. Values, rituals, flows and materials are studied in depth to define an olfactory profile that translates aesthetics and positioning into a coherent experience, from retail to luxury hospitality, all the way to the most reserved corporate spaces.

Spaces you remember with your nose

People do not only remember what they have seen, but how they felt in a place. Olfactory architecture works exactly on this dimension: it creates an emotional thread connecting different stores, hotel lobbies, meeting rooms and lounge areas, offering each time the same subtle feeling of “coming home”.

A warm fragrance can invite people to linger; a brighter accord supports the dynamism of retail; softer notes accompany waiting zones or wellbeing areas. It is not about staging environments, but about shaping atmospheres that accompany gestures, steps and time spent in the space, with a constant and never intrusive presence.

Invisible technology, silent harmony

For a fragrance to become architecture, technology must disappear from sight and turn into pure precision. Professional diffusers, integration into HVAC systems, remote control and telemetry transform the creative concept into a uniform, controlled olfactory presence, always aligned with the context.

Fine-tuning intensity makes it possible to adapt the scenting to different volumes, flows and moments of the day: brighter entrances, softer lounges, more neutral conference rooms. Technology is not there to “scent more”, but to scent better, preserving that delicate balance that true luxury requires.

Olfactory architecture and multisensory design

Contemporary architecture no longer works only on lines, surfaces and light, but on the relationship between the senses. Fragrance dialogues with temperature, textiles and sound, amplifying design choices and turning every space into a multisensory narrative.

Along this path, Scent Company guides brands from the sensorial site survey to the definition of the signature scent, from the choice of professional diffusers to long-term governance: maintenance, refills, subtle seasonal adjustments. The result is an invisible language that unites different destinations under a single emotion, with the discretion that belongs to genuine luxury.

From “scenting” to designing emotions

The most significant shift is this: scent is no longer a decorative gesture, but a form of emotional architecture. Every space can become an olfactory score, where a coherent signature is interpreted in slightly different ways depending on light, season and destination.

If you wish to explore how a fragrance can support your design vision and turn your environments into experiences to remember, we can begin here: by listening to your brand, your spaces, the emotions you want to reveal. From there, olfactory architecture will do the rest.

Architecture is often described through what we see and touch: light, proportions, materials, forms. Yet beyond this visible layer lies a quiet dimension that completes the project: scent. This is where scent marketing becomes invisible architecture, able to shape perception as much as the space itself.

A fragrance defines atmosphere, guides emotions, turns a fleeting moment into a lasting memory. In this subtle weave, air becomes design material, a place where brand identity, architecture and bespoke fragrances meet.

A story written in scent

The dialogue between architecture and scent spans centuries and cultures. Long before the language of scent marketing existed, fragrances were used to give weight to rituals, meaning to spaces, intensity to the simple act of being present.

In Renaissance palaces, aromatic herbs scattered over marble floors released, at every step, discreet notes that wrapped guests in an invisible form of luxury. In temples, resins such as incense and myrrh transformed stone and silence into something suspended, almost sacred, while in Japan the art of kōdō elevated incense to a poetic practice, a harmony between people, space and breath.

From memory to atmosphere

In contemporary design, fragrance continues to shape the way a space is experienced. A green, crystal-clear accord can make a room feel brighter and more open; woody notes bring depth and comfort; spices and resins introduce a dimension of intimacy, almost ritual in nature.

Scent works where sight and touch cannot reach. It adds a subtle emotional architecture that lingers far beyond the time spent in a room. Here, the creation of custom fragrances for brands becomes a design tool, able to translate values, vision and style into atmosphere.

Scent marketing as a design language

Today this vision takes shape in scent marketing. Just as a visual logo or a recognisable architectural sign can immediately define a brand, so an olfactory signature, a true olfactory logo, expresses its identity and memory.

Unlike personal perfumes, ambient fragrances are diffused in a constant, controlled way. They are not a simple decorative detail, but a strategic instrument. Through custom ambient diffusers and professional systems, olfactory branding allows brands to communicate values, stories and style in a discreet yet memorable way. In this context, bespoke perfumes become part of a coherent sensorial ecosystem, one that lives in the space and extends into objects.

The Scent Company vision

Scent Company collaborates with leading names in hospitality, fashion and design to create truly bespoke olfactory identities. Every project combines artistic sensitivity with technological precision, ensuring that scent is not an addition, but an organic component of the experience.

From the creation of custom perfumes to the choice of diffusion technologies, every detail is orchestrated in harmony with architecture, with the flow of movement, with the governance needs of each space. In this way, air becomes language; the brand, a subtle presence; the space, a story to be breathed.

Designing with the invisible

Scent cannot be seen, yet it defines how a space is lived, felt and remembered. In scent marketing, essence and architecture move together: the first completes what the second suggests, creating atmospheres that remain in memory far longer than shapes.

In a world where design is evolving towards increasingly immersive experiences, the olfactory dimension remains a silent ally. It completes geometries, deepens emotions, leaves a trace that goes beyond the time we spend in a place. Because every space deserves not only to be designed, but also to be breathed, with an authentic and recognisable olfactory signature.

Let’s design an authentic sensorial experience together. Start here.

Entering a store, then another hundreds of kilometers away, and finding the same emotion. This is the power of scent marketing when it becomes a language, not an episode: an invisible language that accompanies the customer through the retail network and recreates each time that “coming home” feeling that only a well-designed olfactory signature can evoke.

Scaling scent marketing means preserving sensory coherence while leaving room for subtle variations that respect the architecture, materials, volumes, and local customs.

From boutique to network: the art of coherence

A multi-store campaign begins with deep listening to the brand. First, the narrative is defined: values, rituals, touchpoints. Then it’s translated into a bespoke fragrance, capable of being recognizable and gentle.

Coherence is not rigidity: it’s a shared direction that allows micro-adaptations, such as a brighter intensity at the entrance, a softer trail in lounge areas, or a spiced accent for the cold season. Olfactory memory does the rest: measured repetition consolidates positioning and makes the experience natural, never artificial.

Diffusers: invisible tools, absolute precision

In scent marketing, technology translates creativity into precision and harmony. Professional tools guarantee reliable coverage, uniformity, and continuity over time; silence allows them to “disappear” into the space, letting the fragrance speak.

Centralized management enabled by remote control allows orchestrating the network: scheduling by time slots, technical pauses, peak traffic, events. Precision is a form of elegance: an overly invasive note breaks the spell, a calibrated note sustains it.

Gentle governance: people, rituals, quality

Scalability is not just technology, but method. Each project begins with sensory site visits, listening to the brand, and dialogue with boutique teams.

Standards become rituals: periodic testing with smelling sessions, simple and shared reports, scheduled refills to preserve perceptual quality. Staff training is strategic: everyone must be able to recognize the fragrance’s “tone” and make small adjustments, without ever distorting it.

Measuring without losing poetry

Measuring average dwell time, satisfaction, return visits, or interaction with key categories doesn’t mean constraining the experience, but rather taking care of it.
It’s not about scenting more, but about scenting better—creating harmony, balance, and recognizability in every destination.

One season, many destinations, one emotion

The calendar becomes a sensory score: subtle variations for launches, warmer intensities in winter, citrus notes in travel destinations.

From urban flagship to resort boutique, the olfactory signature remains the pivot: what changes is the light in which we stage it. Thus the multi-store campaign becomes a living project, capable of lasting and renewing itself without losing identity.

Discover how to transform your identity into a coherent experience on a global scale. Together we’ll design your custom fragrance, professional diffusion, and sensory governance that make scent a brand language.

Olfactory marketing has no need for words, as it communicates through a different language – the silent yet powerful art of perfume. A language spoken fluently by the virtuosos of this ancient alchemy: master perfumers.

More informally known as “noses”, these artisans of scent weave science and intuition in a single creative gesture, like architects using invisible building blocks. Their job involves more than simply blending nice-smelling essences – it’s about crafting immersive olfactory experiences that have the power to evoke entire new worlds, stir hidden memories and leave an enduring imprint in the heart and mind of those who breathe in their creations.

These days brand identity is to a large extent – perhaps mostly – created by speaking to the sensory and emotional sphere, and perfumes have taken on an ever more strategic role as part of that. As vital tools for communication and positioning, fragrances convey brand values through a universally understood language: a whispered signature that imprints itself on the memory and helps shape a brand’s identity in an elegant, sophisticated style.

What do master perfumers actually do?

Behind every captivating fragrance lies a meticulous and finely calibrated creative process. At the heart of it is the “nose” who carefully selects and harmonizes hundreds of raw materials, both natural and synthetic, to craft a truly unique and unforgettable olfactory composition. Every note is carefully studied, and nothing goes into that blend by chance. It’s all about finding a subtle balance, combining technical flair, sensibility and a powerful sense of narrative.

To be a master perfumer you must possess an incredibly well-trained sense of smell, an efficient olfactory memory, and a remarkable talent for sensory storytelling. Each fragrance is composed like a symphony: the head notes introduce a message, the heart notes draw you in, and the base notes leave a lasting trail in their wake – something known as sillage in perfume-speak.

These sought-after professionals collaborate with fashion houses, cosmetics brands, hotels and luxury spas, high-end boutiques, and even businesses that see olfactory branding as an opportunity to achieve a distinctive positioning. Their mission is to transform that brand’s essence into a recognisable trail of scent that speaks to the senses – and to the subconscious memory – of their target audience.

Master perfumers through the history of fragrance

The figure of the master perfumer has roots that stretch back through the ages – indeed the first known professional perfumers were in Ancient Egypt, as early as 3000 BC. But it was in Renaissance times that perfumery became a true artistic profession; that is when perfumers began to gain recognition and prestige, not just as artisans but as creative innovators.

Over the centuries, some truly iconic figures emerged and made their mark on the history of perfumery. One such perfumer was Giovanni Maria Farina, who is recognised as being the inventor of Eau de Cologne in the 18th century, heralding a new era in European perfumery. In the early 20th century, François Coty revolutionised and democratised the industry by making perfumes more accessible to a wider audience and bringing a fresh perspective to scent marketing.

Then came Edmond Roudnitska with his legendary artistic and conceptual vision. He elevated the art of perfumery to new heights and created beloved, iconic scents such as Dior’s Eau Sauvage and Diorissimo.

Equally famous and unforgettable perfumers today are Jean-Claude Ellena, with his minimalist, poetic style, who totally redefined the concept of an elegant fragrance; and Francis Kurkdjian, who has infused original creativity and unexpected innovations into contemporary scent design.

Another of the great “noses” in the history of perfume is Alessandro Gualtieri, known for his avant-garde approach and his mission to break new ground in perfume design, defying convention.

Whether they work independently or with top houses, today’s master perfumers are the custodians of an olfactory culture and expertise that resists standardisation. They remain loyal to tradition, while looking to the future.

How to become a master perfumer

Becoming a professional “nose” isn’t just about having a natural aptitude. It requires a lengthy journey of study and training, discipline and dedication. Aspiring master perfumers begin with technical studies, to learn about the chemistry of scents, raw materials and their characteristics, olfactory classification, and how to build accords. Future noses study at historic, renowned institutions that offer rigorous, specialist training courses.

But practical experience is an equally important part of the journey: working in labs, experimenting with formulas, refining one’s olfactory vocabulary. Many noses start out as apprentices with major companies, where they hone their skills working alongside established master perfumers.

Beyond technical expertise is the human touch: these professionals are required to possess creativity, cultural curiosity and the capacity to grasp the essence of a concept and translate it into a fragrance. If you think about it, a perfumer is like an interpreter: he or she gathers inputs from the world, from the client, from emotions, and then reinterprets them in the form of a sensory experience. They can also be compared to a contemporary artist, working in a medium that is truly “alive”.

How master perfumers bring value to Scent Company’s projects

When you decide to make the leap into the world of olfactory branding, the resulting fragrance becomes an extension of your brand identity. They build a language, paint an invisible yet incredibly powerful picture, shape and fine-tune an emotion destined to last forever. In today’s market, where everything is based on perception, the power of an olfactory logo resides in its ability to make itself heard but not seen; to speak to the psyche on a subconscious level, and remain imprinted on the memory long after we have breathed it in.

With Scent Company you can let perfume become your unique marketing tool: contact us and let our master perfumers guide you through the creation of your new olfactory identity.
