The scent of modernity is woman: what is the story behind this theory?  It comes from far away, from Mesopotamia, in the first millennium BC., when a woman named Tapputi had the idea to produce the first artificial fragrance.

We are only at the beginning of a path of sensitivity, identity and emancipation.

We mention sensitivity because perfume requires great attention and refinement of the senses to be created and perceived. We also have to think about identity because a perfume allows us to be noticed, identified, recognized. But what strike us most is how perfume has evolved in past centuries in parallel with the history of female emancipation.

Every ancient culture gave its importance to scents. Over the centuries, men and women defined a path finding new different meaning for the fragrances around them: but what is happening today?

From Tapputi to 2020, women’s role in society has evolved. The scent of modernity is a woman. And with this fragrance we try to describe this era, the mirror of emancipation, and this is exactly what we are still asking from a perfume: to define the indefinable and to anticipate innovation.
